The subjects we cover in this book encom- pass some novel concepts that we believe will be valuable additions to the practice of Radiology. Foremost among these are: recommendations for development and adoption of what we have termed Diagnostic Imaging Appropriateness Score, as a measure to determine if a study should be performed; anonymous evaluation of radiologist’s performance; holding medical experts legally accountable for their opinions if they differ from the norm; incorporation of radiologists serving as blinded reviewers in medicolegal cases as a method to obtain continuing education credits; and that the US health care system should emulate the Australian system as a model.
